Sexual Media Literacy

It could be argued that pornography has become an unprecedented public health issue. Understanding it's influence on attitudes and behaviours is a complex and complicated undertaking. Large scale, longitudinal studies linking sexual media and health are still in their early stages of research. However, several smaller studies have already demonstrated an associated risk.

From a position of harm reduction, this project aims to provide parents with a pathway and support structure to age-appropriate conversations about media, relationships, and  boundaries with their children. Using teachable moments within mainstream media, parents are taught how to recognize and act upon opportunities for discussion in a manner that both child and parent are comfortable with.
